New to the blogging thing

So I got this I idea from my friend Lillian. She's also expecting her first child and is using the blog as a way to keep everyone informed about what's going on in their family.

Since I'm not working any more I thought I'd take some time and start doing this too. I'm not really big on journaling, but I'd like a way to remember significant pregnancy things and keep everyone in the loop!

The latest news is that we had our big ultrasound and found out we're having a girl! I'm now at 21 weeks and it's really exciting to know that I've passed the half way mark. It's so hard not to buy all the cute little girl stuff I see, but I know I'll get a lot of these things at my baby shower, so I'm trying to hold off!

This week I'm going to start on the nursery, which is exciting. We still have to wait until Mayer has a fence in the backyard before we can move in any furniture, but I'm going to work on cleaning the carpet and installing my lamp (that I got for free from American Eagle about a year ago!)

Also, we've decided on a name- Alexis Laura Gentry. Andrew liked the idea of them having the same first and last initial... the middle name wasn't negotiable for me (Laura was my grandmother's name), so he didn't get all the initials, but just AG is good for him.

Oh... and I've started feeling her move around, not nearly as much as you normally do at 21 weeks. I have what's called an anterior placenta, which means the placenta is inbetween the baby and my stomach wall. It's not unusual and it isn't a bad thing, it just means that I won't feel her regularly for a couple more weeks. For now it's just little movements every once in a while and an occasional big kick.

That's all for now! Hopefully I can remember to update this thing :)
